The conference emphasized the new energy market model that the European Commission is willing to implement through the Energy Union strategy, together with the challenging climate policies that Europe is deploying in the view of the Climate Change Conference in Paris. In particular the conference analyzed how the European Union should create market incentives in order to foster new investments in low carbon technologies and in parallel examine if and how the carbon market will provide such incentives in a timely and effective manner.
