CEPS Low Carbon Economy Forum 2018 - Steps towards the EU Low-Carbon Economy: Industrial challenges, actions & requirements

CEPS Energy Climate House invites you to the Low Carbon Economy Forum 2018 on “Industrial challenges, actions & requirements, 4-5 June 2018. The event will start in the afternoon of June 4th from 14:30 – 18:30 and continue the next morning of June 5th from 9:00 to 13:15

The transition to a low-carbon economy presents both a significant opportunity and an immense challenge. The development and notably the commercialisation of low-carbon solutions, including clean energy technologies, can catalyse economic development, jobs and growth, and accelerate the transformation of business and industry. At the same time, this transition presents significant challenges in many cases related to scale: development and deployment of breakthrough technologies, infrastructure requirements and need for capital. This challenge is even greater when considering the requirement to make investments today for benefits in the future.  A successful transition will require close coordination between policy, technology and capital, at the core of which is a partnership between the public and private sector and countries around the world.

The conference opens with a panel discussion focusing on the opportunities offered by the energy transition and the industrial transformation, as well as the challenges that industry, policy and society at large will encounter in the process. This will be followed by three sessions:

  • Innovation, finance and regulation
  • Special session: Presentation of study "RECONFIGURE: The powerful potential of the circular economy on an industrial scale"
  • The future global market for a decarbonised industry

This event is fully booked.
